Polly Lawrence: Please be aware that HB13-1269 will be heard on the House floor possibly on Monday for second reading. This bill would drastically change our property rights regarding mineral/oil/gas leases and also re-make the Colorado Oil and Gas Commission by mandating that the persons with knowledge of today's oil & gas industry not be current employees in the industry. That would make this the only board to disallow membership to people with current experience in the industry they are charged with overseeing. (the medical board allows doctors, the real estate board allows realtors and brokers...) This is a drastic change to the COGCC that would remove the people with the most current knowledge and experience in the changing technologies of the industry from having a voice. I don NOT support this bill ask for support in opposing this bad piece of legislation.
